It was sand down to 400 grit and sealed with several coats of traditional boiled linseed oil and wax. The blade is left raw and is finished up with a light coat of food safe oil. Just wipe down and put a light coat of food safe oil such as olive or vegetable oil.
Do not put this cleaver in the dishwasher. It is high carbon steel and will rust.
The total length of the cleaver is 11 1/2” and the blade is about 7 1/2”.
This cleaver is very sharp and should be handle with care.
